There are so many people online who do social right. However it was very easy for me to come up with my personal list of the influencers who I believe do a truly magnificent job of putting the Social in Social Media.

These are the people who take fan engagement to another level, for with as many followers as they may have, they are still willing to take the time to response to individual tweets, mentions and blog postings and for me, this is one of the true markers of someone who actually cares about the people who follow, engage and ultimately buy their products and services.

They have a lot to offer so let’s take a look at some of the best advice they’ve shared online.

Kim Garst:  The Founder and CEO of Boom! Social. She leads a personal branding and social media business kimconsulting firm. According to her Twitter bio, she describes herself as a Social Selling Pro, Best Selling Author, Keynote Speaker who loves God, family & hockey!

Kim’s latest book is called Will the Real You Please Stand Up: Show Up, Be Authentic, and Prosper in Social Media and you can purchase a copy here and if you are interesting in what it takes to build a truly authentic online brand, this book will get you started on the right track.

ianIan Cleary: The CEO of Razor Social’s twitter bio says that he’s an Award Winning Tech Blogger on RazorSocial, Social Media Tools Guy, Contributor for Social Media Examiner, Prof Speaker and Kick Boxer! What does Ian say about Social Media? Building relationships is about giving,  not taking.

This is a truly powerful statement that I’m sure many of use can gain a lot from practicing.  Ian’s love is tools and technology and if you’re looking to find a one stop resource for all of the top Social Media Tools,  Ian’s Tools directory is the place to be.

Michael Stelzner: Founder of Social Media Examiner, the go to place for all things social media and he is also the host of the Social Media Marketing podcast.  He has authored the books, “Launch: How to Quickly Propel Your Business Beyond the Competition” and “Writing White Papers: How to Capture Readers and Keep Them Engaged.” He’s also a committed  Christian and dad.

What does Michael have to say about Social Media?  The most important thing to getting a business off the ground is to first develop relationships with people before you ever start!

Jeff Bullas is one of Social Media’s top bloggers. He’s an author, strategist and speaker. What makes Jeff sociable? In the early days of my blog. I emailed him asking for permission to re-post his and he took the time to respond with a resounding yes!

Mari Smith is described as a Passionate Social Media Leader, Facebook Marketing & Relationship Marketing Speaker and Author. Mari like Ferrari’ 😉 impressed me with her bubbly online personality. I’ve attended a few of her webinars and she’s down to earth and comes across as super sweet.

Gary Vaynerchuk is an entrepreneur, investor, author, public speaker, and internet personality and  is one of the only people on this list that I have not yet personally reached out too but I have been following his Ask Gary Vee channel on Youtube and I love the way he takes the time to answer his fan questions.

I stumbled across one of his interviews a few years ago and I was really impressed and although I sometimes I do have to wash my ears out with soap re: his colorful language 😉 I do love his realness and hopefully he gets to purchase the New York Jets Soon! #tiredofyoubabblingabouthatgary. . . lol

So this is just my personal top 6 and I personally think these guys are awesome! Maybe it’s because of how easy it’s been to reach out to them and see them truly practice what they preach, to see them be social on social media.

There are many others in all fields even if it’s not social media. The take away for you is don’t be afraid to reach out to the people in your niche that you admire.  This is the gift of Social Media.
